Privacy

We're very pleased you want to work with us, and promise to respect your privacy as you do so.

Partnership petitions run on Going To Work are a joint effort between our union partner, who take the lead on each particular issue, and us, who provide the technical capacity and help to tell more people about campaigns that might interest them.

Here's some more detail on what we plan to do with any data you share with us.

1. Information collected

  • We collect your name, email and postcode information from users who sign each partnership petition.
  • Our web logs collect additional information automatically about your visit to our web site, such as time of visit, pages read and your IP address. This isn't used to identify you.
  • See the Going To Work main web site privacy policy for more information about privacy and our wider campaigns.

2. Use of personal information

If you sign a petition, the union partner who are running the petition will use your personal information for the purposes of:

  • alerting you to updates pertinent to that campaign, which may include suggestions of further actions to take
  • passing on the final petition to the campaign target
  • publishing your comments on the site if you submit them
  • administering subscription records

If you also choose to join Going To Work (tickbox on signature), we will use your personal information for:

  • alerting you to new campaign actions on the Going To Work network that we think might interest you (outside the scope of the particular petition you signed)
  • administering subscription records
  • carrying out demographic research to improve our site's effectiveness

See the Going To Work main web site privacy policy for more information about privacy and our wider campaigns.

3. Disclosures

Unless you consent otherwise, your personal information will only be used within the union partner running the petiton and within the TUC.
