Campaign against school cuts

Stop School Funding Cuts - All Our Children Deserve a Great Education

Why is this important?

The Institute for Fiscal Studies has shown that new spending proposals will still mean real-terms cuts to per pupil funding of 4.6 per cent between 2015 and 2020.

This means that with the best will in the world, the new National Funding Formula is unable to deliver a fair, equitable and transparent funding system that both protects per pupil funding for all schools while provided significant uplift for those schools in historically under-funded areas. We are calling on the Secretary of State for Education and the Chancellor of the Exchequer to: • Immediately reverse cuts to school budgets that have taken place since 2015 • Protect per pupil funding in real terms over the lifetime of this parliament • Provide the additional funding needed to implement a school funding formula that increases funding for schools in comparatively poorly funded areas of England without cutting funding per pupil for schools in any other part of the country, so that no school loses out.

Reasons for signing

  • Education is the apex to any society and every child should be entitled to one!
  • I think the cut in education is gone too far. We cannot afford a copy of book per child, worry about photocopying handout, having to buy stationery by ourselves, while our salary is also cut with 1% cap. Our job is to inspire our students, but the government is making us feel depressed.
  • Education is a right for and shold not been done to class. The richest in society again try to attack are education. Hands of school and free education for all. I moved Steve Geary.
